Why is coffee bad for your abs? I’m under the impression that It has almost zero calories it’s extremely high in antioxidants and the caffeine raises your metabolism causing you to burn more calories at rest.

The best “exercise” for the abdominal muscles is to cut back on the carbs. As has been stated so many times you can not shrink the abdominals by excessive sit ups or crunches.
In other words follow Dr. Atkins and have low carb leafy green vegetables and avoid excessive coffee.

Agreed.Trying to not be even meaner.Wrong: to spend time effort that can no longer be spent more effectively. What are we looking for on perhaps the most argued area?: Stabilization ,movement,appearance, breathing all part of the package. Powerlifters do heavy deadlifts , boxers do high reps & medicine-ball, a yogi does the vacuum, but diet is probably all that’s needed for what most people want. You’ll never see your abs just from working them.

Now for us and I think for most other people here, we’re interested in whats BEST! Anything that is not best for us, is wrong, because it detracts from what we’re after – which is the BEST!
Thats why I look at this kind of vid and say “thats wrong”. Its good, sure. Its better than doing nothing, but its wrong for those of us who are out to be the best we can be, and isn’t that who we’re addressing?

You know, you keep saying that – “neither is wrong” or “this isn’t wrong”.
Now we both know that in fitness parlance, there is “good, better, best”. Its GOOD to get off the couch and move around. Its BETTER to move around with a clear goal in mind, with exercises meant to achieve that goal, and a working knowledge of reps and sets. BEST would be using all that science has to offer, which is light years beyond good and better!

Upper body position changes the range. Sit straight , more work is done @ top of rep. Lean back puts more work @ the beginning of the rep. Neither is really the best exericise for the purpose in the 1st place, but neither is “wrong” at all.
