@vaj99 … HIT done properly IS NOT DANGEROUS!!!!! If you get hurt lifting weights in general you got hurt because your form sucks! You cant hurt yourself by working hard, that is simply a load of bullshit. You can get hurt by inroading deeply and then doing something else physically demanding before you recover fully. I cannot stress the point enough though, if you exercise in a safe and controlled manner (superslow) you will not hurt yourself no matter how heavy the weight or how deep you work

dit anyone tried the rest pause style used by Mike?
i am doing it now and love the feeling it gives but i would love to see what results it will give in the long run.
i love heavty duty. because i was tired wasting hours in the gym with zero results.
even if hit or heavy duty will not give me the mass it promisses, at least my strenght got way up and i still have a live beside training compared to all the high volume programs…

I believe it’s the music from The Shining.
May 27th, 2010 at 5:10 am
GREAT ADVICE, but i felt like i was watching an 80s horror flick. do you think they knew that the music they were using was so creapy. I was getting chills down my spine watching this at midnight alone in my room. weird!

any one have any thoughts on cardio with hit weight training im resting 4 days inbetween weights but can i do cardio inbetween
May 27th, 2010 at 6:35 am
To samugrose, that depends on the personal experiance of all those bodybuilders! ya somethings will work for one person and not for others but the cause and effect is this there!.
May 27th, 2010 at 7:12 am
lol. jesus. i love all the 24 hr fitness bodybuilders who subscribe to mens health who come on here and pretend to know everything. very strange.

well obviously you have to hit a sticking point sooner or later and then change up your routine a little bit if you never hit a sticking point then everybody would be bench pressing over 1000lbs. sticking points always come. it that wasnt the case then there wouldnt be pro bodybuilding or powerlifting or the biggest loser because we would all have in shape perfect healthy bodies.
May 27th, 2010 at 8:07 am
well… in the case of the human body ANYTHING isnt possible. there are things you can do to maxamize your genetic potential to its fullest but you cant chagne your genetic makeup so when it comes to the human body after your already born not everything is possible. maybe down the road with stem cell research making the super human or whatever but that hasnt happened yet

I completly agree with thegargeman21. I’m a HIT trainer and trainee training every 7 days works very well I go up in waight reps or both every week!. and I even take an extra day or two once and while to ensure that I dont reach a sticking point!. I find it sad to think that mike was being taken for a fool all those years. its ironic because its the same for me at my gym. the cause and effect of HIT scare people its crazy! anyways I owe it to mike mentzer!.

If your too fat to see your “weak points” then you really shouldn’t even be thinking about competitions lol . . . Regardless the people posting in here are just casual lifters.
May 27th, 2010 at 11:54 am
Thats what I meant when I said in my earlier post, “only in certain circumstances.”
May 27th, 2010 at 12:33 pm
no it doesnt. for seasoned bodybuilding it wont but for someone in their early years just starting out it will work. if i am eating a bad diet with a high bodyfat percentage then change it to a good diet lower than that high bodyfat maintainence calorie level i will be burning fat and gaining muscle. it happens all the time when fat people at less and start training with weights. havent you ever heard the stories i lost 50lbs and put on 15lbs of muscle. it is possible but not in seasoned lifters
May 27th, 2010 at 12:52 pm
agreed. always include some lifting but take the fat low enough to actually see your weak points. if you know your weak points then you will have an easier time bringing then up during hypertrophy phase. then when you cut down you didnt just waste months and months and come out with a crappy bodypart and have 3 weeks before a contest and nothing you can do about it.
