<p><strong>Hip Hop Abs: Stop Doing Sit Ups To Get Flat Abs</strong></p>
<p>It is a common misconception that you have do hundreds and hundreds of sit ups and crunches to get flat abs. You don&#8217;t even have to do one sit up or crunch and you can still get flat abs and the stomach that you have been dreaming about. With the tilt, tuck, and tighten method that was developed by fitness expert Shaun T in his workout Hip Hop Abs, you can flatten your abs and you never have to get on the floor.</p>
<p>Doing sit ups can be painful on your back and your neck. If you do not do them properly you can even injure your back and neck. It is not comfortable laying on the ground and crunching up and down as your back and neck get jolted all around.</p>
<p>Not only are sit ups and crunches uncomfortable and painful, they are also not very effective in getting six pack abs. What many people do not realize is that crunches will not get rid of the fat on your stomach. There is no way that you can spot train and pick and choose where the fat comes off your body. Sit ups may help to strengthen your abdominal muscles and give them definition but if there is still a layer of fat sitting on top of the stomach muscles, then you will never see your defined muscles. Instead all you will see is a belly paunch that never goes away.</p>
<p>What you need to lose belly fat and get flat abs is cardiovascular exercise along with exercises that strengthen and tone the stomach muscles. Through a technique called tilt, tuck, and tighten, Shaun T provides that type of exercise in one easy workout called Hip Hop Abs.</p>
<p>The way that this technique works is that you are constantly engaging and contracting your abdominal muscles during your whole cardio workout. This not only provides you with a cardiovascular workout that burns fat from your entire body, but it also helps to strengthen and tone your midsection. <p>If you stop into your local magazine store and take a glance at the various fitness or even for all intent purposes, any magazines. Every single magazine supposedly has the cure for stomach fat. I must admit that I actually get a real kick out of reading all of the catchy titles that the marketers of these magazines come up with. Some of them say just do THIS ab workout and you will melt fat from your belly. Some say that their abdominal plan is the most effective.  All of that is just fine and dandy except for the simple fact that&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Everyday people email me to get the answer to the age-old question of &#8220;What are the best core abdominal workouts for ripping tight six pack abs?&#8221; </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>If these magazines that claim their ab workout is the best, was indeed the best core workout than I would not be receiving as many emails as I am asking to explain the age old quest of eliminating belly fat.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>I wish the magazines would actually be a bit more truthful and tell you that no ab workout will give you the six pack abs that you want. They should also tell you that crunches will not, I repeat WILL NOT burn belly fat. Point blank! If you want to burn belly fat and see your ab muscles than you must take a different approach than just starving yourself and doing crunches.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The problem is that focusing most of your time and effort on abdominal exercises and abs workouts to try to flatten your stomach and bring out 6-pack abs is simply wasting your time from doing the correct workout programs that will acutally reduce your body fat for good.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Below I have compiled a list of some exercises. These are not various forms of crunches, nor are they just random exercises that I pulled out of a hat. The exercises that you see below are non other than the most effective full body exercises that just about anybody would be able to learn.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>various forms of squats, lunges, deadlifts, clean &amp; presses, snatches, swings, presses and pulls, mountain climbers, sprinting, etc.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Believe it or not, the exerises that you see above are actually the same exercises that you would see me doing if you were to stalk me and follow me to the gym (I really hope you do not like reading my articles or my book that much that you would stalk me!!)</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t get me wrong ( I would take that as a compliment but&#8230;) well back to fitness&#8230;.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>As I was saying that I normally build my workouts around those moves that you see above, I will also very strategically perform various exercises that DO directly target the abs and core. However if you were to compare the amount of time I spend training my abs via &#8220;abdominal moves&#8221; vs the amount of time that my abs work via &#8220;regular exercises&#8221; such as the ones above, you would be surprised to see that I spend about 85% of my time doing the regular exercises.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Keep in mind that the most important factor for losing belly fat to see your abs is actually in the nutrition arena. No matter how hard you workout, if your diet is full of junk, then your abdominals will be covered with ugly fat. Nutrition is without a doubt the &#8220;king of getting a six pack&#8221;.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>So let&#8217;s clear this up for good&#8230;</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Stop wasting so much of your time focusing on situps, crunches, leg raises, and all those silly worthless &#8220;ab contraptions&#8221; in your efforts to try to develop 6-pack abs. Instead focus on high intensity full body lifts using combination multi-joint exercises all strategically combined into highly effective fat loss workouts. Couple that with a healthy diet (no more starving yourself) full of natural unprocessed whole foods as close to their natural state as possible, and those elusive six-pack abdominals will yours in no time!</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re serious about bodybuilding then you need to get serious about your nutrition too. Most new bodybuilders put too much emphasis on blasting their muscles in the gym and ignore this aspect of their training which is just as important as lifting, if not even more so. Remember that you don&#8217;t grow in the gym, it&#8217;s what you do outside the gym that helps you to grow.</p>

There are many different nutrients that need to be considered for a bodybuilder to have proper nutrition. If you&#8217;re growing then carbohydrates should form the bulk of what you eat. You need these carbs for energy in the gym and to make sure that your body is using the protein in your diet for muscle growth rather than energy. Carbohydrates are starches and sugars like fruits, bread, rice and potatoes. You&#8217;ll also find some carbohydrates in dairy products and vegetables. These should make up 60% of your diet when trying to add size.</p>

Another secret of bodybuilders is to each smaller meals more frequently. Instead of the traditional three meals a day you should try to double that and eat 6 meals a day. These meals will be smaller, but by eating so frequently you&#8217;ll help to speed up your metabolism. This will help you keep growing, but stay lean at the same time.</p>

It&#8217;s also important that you schedule your meals. Make a plan and stick to that. Try to get most of your carbohydrates early in the day and right before training. At night you should focus more on protein and good fats. If you make this part of your strategy you&#8217;ll be helping your muscles to grow.</p>

If you don&#8217;t have the time or interest to learn about proper nutrition yourself then hire a professional nutritionist. They will be able to put together a proper bodybuilders diet that will keep your energy levels high for the gym and keep you growing. As an added help talk to other bodybuilders in your gym to find out about their diets and nutrition.
