I was so badly out of shape, it was unforgivable. Well before I ever thought of writing any Ab Rocket Reviews, I was quite overweight, and just not happy at all in my own skin. It was terrible. I looked for excuses all the time, it was my metabolism, good healthy food just cost too much, and even more. Let me say that whilst I did have a low metabolism, this was just one small contributor to the overall problem.

The first contributing factor to all of this was that I did not eat well. I mean, healthy food is for rich people, right? Little did I know that it was not that it was expensive, it was that my portion size was way too big. I was also too self conscious to be seen in a Gym full of fitness fanatics who might judge me because of my size. After my first time at the Gym, it did become apparent to me that most people are at the Gym for one thing. To lose weight. Not all people at the Gym are super fit!

Here’s the thing. I would not be writing this article if there was no light at the end of the tunnel. Right now, I am still far from my ideal weight, but I can tell you that I am well on my way. Under 80 kilograms, and going strong. So, you want to know what my secret fitness plan was?

Food is so incredibly important, I can not stress this enough. What you consume has the ability to build muscle, give you the energy to take on your day, and maintain fat loss. This is incredibly important, and requires a lot of focus. This really is the centrepiece for all of your weight loss efforts. Let me give you a few examples of my intake as I guide you through my workouts.

To start off any good workout, I do a warmup on the Treadmill for at least 4kms or so at an average pace of 6kph. This helps me get my heart rate up and into that fat burning zone. It is essential to warm up before any workout, and the treadmill is the ideal machine for that. Just be sure to consult with your doctor first, as they will be able to identify where your fat burning zone is, and they will be able to guide you on best practice when it comes to pushing yourself too hard. Keep your water intake up as well, as you are only going to lose water from your body as you workout.

The Cross Trainer is a bit of a tough one for newbies. It took me a few weeks to be able to do a simple 20 minute workout on one of these, however, it does get easier. Start with minimal resistance, start slow, and work your way up. If you last 5 minutes your first time, that’s OK, because you will easily be able to do 10 minutes next time. Again, focus on getting to that fat burning zone, and keep your water intake up.

The next step in the chain is your muscle growth. This is essential, as this will increase your metabolism, your core strength, and will give you the ability to absorb more of what you put into your body. There is no real need to specify a regime here however, as each person is just so different. Speak to a gym consultant, and they will be able to help you along.

Working your muscles has one side effect. As your muscles in theory are damaged every time that you work them out, you are going to end up quite sore. This is why protein intake matters for those who work their muscles. This can come in the form of supplements, or if you want to play it safe and simple, having a protein rich meal after a muscle workout will be just as effective.

I could talk to you for hours about the many ways that you can get into shape. This method, as simple as it is, this is exactly how I got into better shape. It took time, and it took determination. I actually write more about my escapades over at the Ab Rocket Reviews, I highly recommend that you come and visit sometime. I do need to make you aware however that if this is very new to you, you are going to want to see a doctor so that they can assess your limits, and help you understand where your fat burning zone is.
