Anti Scaling Water Systems Offer Cleaner Water
To prevent corrosion by adding a protective layer to the surface of your plumbing hardware and pipes consider switching over to anti scaling water systems. Scale forms on the heating elements and hardware of your plumbing systems and with an anti scaling system calcium and magnesium are changed into particles that wash away. These inactive crystals will not attach themselves to your plumbing and you will see a 99 percent improvement in scale prevention.
There is no need to replace salt as in traditional softener systems saving you money, the particles created by the system are harmless to both health and environmental issues. Calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for equal amounts of sodium ions in a traditional softener, this adds sodium content into your system. This addition of sodium raises both health and environmental issues. In addition, the softener system needs back washing and the anti scaling system does not.
Your pipes will be cleaned and scale build-up will be prevented. The anti scaling system can treat up to 100 grains of hardness. You can replace a traditional water softener with an anti scaling system and you will notice there is no slippery feel. You may note a salty taste and odor until the system flushes out all of the old system sodium.
This type of system works best in the range of 5 to 9 pH and can withstand temperatures to 39 degrees, but it should be protected from freezing conditions. It can tolerate up to 60 degrees C or 140 degrees F. If contamination becomes an issue it can be treated with 2 to 3 ppm chlorine to kill bacteria.
Most water sources are fine as long as they do not have high levels of chlorine. Municipal sources meet requirements but if they test high for chlorine it can disrupt the system, a high reading would be in the 2 ppm and over range. Water taken from a well can be dirty and it too can cause problems. The lifespan of the system is usually 3 to 5 years if proper requirements are met.
It is recommended a whole house carbon filter be installed prior to the anti scaling system if chlorine is present. Depending on the type and amount of scale build-up it can take from one to six weeks for de-scaling to take full effect. Due to high temperatures in a dishwasher, spotting can be seen on dishes due to descaling taking place. It is recommended that a cup of white vinegar be run through the wash cycle to remove the scaling. Also reduction of soap usage by as much as half and using eco-friendly detergents is advised.
Too much chlorine can harm the system, as mentioned, it would be best to install a carbon filter at the same time as the anti scaling system is installed to insure issues do not arise. When the system is installed, conversion of calcium and magnesium can happen instantly. The crystal particles are formed on the surface and will not stick to the pipes. NSF 61 standards done by the Water Quality Assurance Labs were met to insure there are no health issues.
No electricity is required, no valves are needed and costs are kept to a minimum with anti scaling water systems. You eliminate the need to buy salt. You will not need to make service calls and chemicals are not used. They take from 50 to 70 percent less space than conventional systems and maintain healthy minerals.
