Is A Home Exercise Program Better Than Going To A Gym?
There’s a plethora of home fitness workouts and products out there that claim they will help you trim up, shed unwanted pounds and look leaner, but are any of them worth it? Chances are you probably have been burned before after buying into a claim, and spending your hard earned money only to find out that it doesn’t live up to the promise.
Personally, I know how it feels to try out a new home exercise DVDs and receive little results from it. It doesn’t really do much for your motivation to see how hard you worked, and how little you got out of it. It’s like the story of those people that watch the weight loss T.V. show, “The Biggest Loser” while chowing down on ice cream. Those people are often so frustrated with their “inability” to lose weight that they just give up, and eat garbage. Many people feel that way after trying a fitness program and then failing to see the drastic results that they thought they would get.
In this article I will be talking about home exercise DVDs like P90x, and whether or not they are worth getting.
Gyms make their money from selling memberships. Why would someone want to pay a membership to a gym? A good gym is stocked with lots of high quality expensive equipment. It is so expensive that the average person isn’t going to be able to afford buying all the machines themselves. It also isn’t practical because these machines take up a lot of space. It makes sense then, to pay for a membership for access to this gym equipment. However, do you really need access to high quality expensive gym equipment to get into shape?
The question is, is access to a gym any better than, say, P90x? The answer to that question will vary from person to person, but in reality, what it boils down to is this. A calorie burned is a calorie burned. Expensive gym equipment or not, it doesn’t matter if you burned that calorie using a stair stepper that cost a ton of money, or doing a yoga workout in your living room. Just as you can burn calories at a gym, you can also burn them at home. The same goes for building muscle, you can also do it at home, without expensive equipment.
You can get fit from your own home with a workout DVD. You don’t need expensive equipment. The best kind of home exercise DVD will include resistance training as well as cardio. Even better ones will include several workouts on different DVD’s instead of giving you only one. And the best ones will help you know what you should eat, as well as how much you should eat for optimum fitness.
P90x is the perfect example of an excellent home exercise program. It includes 12 workout DVDs and a nutrition guide that tells you what to eat. It is a 90 day program that once you complete, you will be amazed at your results.
Get fit at home. Use these P90x results as motivation.
