You might have seen one of the Osim massage chairs at a store called Brookstone. Osim is a distribution company based out of Singapore. They brand a number of chairs manufactured by third parties. One such chair is the iSymphonic massage chair and is the focus of this massage chair review.
The world of massage chairs can sometimes be confusing with a number of different brands and manufacturers. Though some are not actually a manufacturer but are a distributor. They use a third-party to make their chairs and then they market and brand them.
There are a few interesting electronic features in this recliner. Sensors are used to accurately measure you before a massage. This is done in order to find the correct shiatsu pressure points.
This model also has an integrated music therapy system. The music therapy system is a little bit more than just listening to your favorite music. The massage is synchronized to and orchestrated by the music that is being played.
An exciting feature in this recliner is its synchronized music therapy system. The synchronized music is based on your preferences. Select the type of music that you want and push the synchronize button. The chair will then start the massage movements based on the tempo of the music playing.
There are a number of automatic massage programs in this recliner from Osim. It comes with five automatic healthcare programs. Each one of these programs is 15 minutes in duration and provides for different massage movements.
In addition to automatic massage programs, there are also manual massage techniques. This enables you to select a technique and let it work over a specific area. This is great for targeted relief.
One of the fun features of a massage chair is its motorized recline. This recliner can be set back 170. This is almost horizontal as 180 is completely flat. The easy-to-use remote allows you to adjust the chair back or the leg rest up to your convenience.
This recliner also comes with an air massage system. There are specially designed airbags in the leg rests and on the seat. The leg massage uses vibration in conjunction with the airbags being activated. The chair lacks an arm massage.
Another consideration is the music and its delivery. This massage chair comes with its own earphones. Earphones are a great way to get excellent sound quality while not disturbing others in the room. This is a great way to relax in your recliner.
This massage chair is a decent one for the price. I don’t think I would take this one over some of its rivals. I find some great technology being put out by Panasonic, Sanyo and Omega. The difference between these companies is the full therapeutic treatment that you receive in one of their recliners.
My back and shoulders get very stiff which requires deeper tissue massage. I like a good strong massage chair which will penetrate through the muscle tissue. I did not get the same penetration with the Osim iSymphonic massage chair. It seemed a little weak and superficial for my taste.
The features I like on this massage chair are the music and the synchronization function. I thought the back of massage was weak and superficial. I do not think that this massage chair would be good for my long-term needs. I prefer a massage which is stronger on the back as that’s where most of my tension resides.
