I’m trying to gain weight, and also get a bigger six pack under my fat, so when I cut weight I can see my abs but there bigger and alot stronger, i’m not sure if weighted workouts are the best or not or with natural body weight, i’m trying to get bigger and also stronger abs can someone please help me, maybe with a list of workouts, with the amount of sets and reps, if possible to use dumbbell or not
That’s not right…back thickness and quad exercises are 2 sets and 15-20 is not only hamstrings…db exercises are 15-25 or even 20-30…skullcrushers too and other are 11-15, or 11-20 but there is no set number, you just do what works for you, but that’s how dante has it laid out
Thanks for clearing it up, I thought I had it all wrong. Are there any online sources that I can get some more in-depth info on doggcrapp training? I’ve never come across that kind of information before ^
Yes, you are right. But for movements that put the lower back at risk i.e. deadlifts, rack pulls, t-bars…perform one heavier set (5-8 reps) followed by a lighter set (9-12 reps). In addition, quad movements are done by performing a heavy set (4-8) followed by a high rep set of 20+ (widowmaker).
For heavy moves like deads or rows you hit a real heavy weight for about 4 and then take strip down for 9ish, for moves like deads you cnt be messing with minis or negs as the weight will cripple you.
I’m confused. I was taught to believe that DC training consists of just one working set, followed by 2 additional rest-paused ‘mini-sets’ with an optional ~30 second static hold, and finally extreme stretching.
Can someone explain why slayer starts deads with 585lbs for 4 reps, then a lesser weight for 9? :S
1. You’re taking it too literally. When most ppl count, they’re 6sec is like 2 REAL sec. It’s just stated so they control the weight down.
2. It’s actually supposed to be 1 set, but some go for 2
3. 15-20 are only on hamstrings. He recommends 8-12 on others.
Thing is to not overanalyze it or take things too literally with the program. It’s mostly ’bout progression with either weight or reps with the same weight.
Questions:
1. Do you really need to do the 6s negative? Nobody seems to bother in any of the videos.
2. Why 2 sets of deads?
3. Are the rep ranges that Dante recomends (15-20) necessary/realistic if you’re natural of is 12-15 better.
The one recommended for beginners is the best one. Three days a week is all you need. Unless your a monster who has been training DC for years you don’t need anything else.
Whatever though, no matter what people are still going to do what they want to do so go on.
at 4.12 you can see the deep breaths, he just edited the rest out, who wants to watch him breathing?? I mean come on
and for people commentin on the deadlifting, in DC is it a ‘Back thickness’ exercise, watch more DC training vids and you will see this is how most of them deadlift. Interested to know if any of you can deadlift the weight hes lifting?

Looks to me like he edited the breathing out. This guy is/was on the intensemuscle board and friends with the creator if I am not mistaken.
Also there are a couple different routine based on experience levels so this one looks different than the recommended beginners.
